Training last mile animal health agents
Working with different partners we have supported over 600 last mile animal health service providers with additional training in artificial insemination and vaccination campaigns, across Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Niger and Taraba

Impact Metrics

This campaign addressed a critical gap in AMR advocacy by mobilizing last-mile animal health service providers to reach underserved farmers and agrovet dealers.

The campaign employed a grassroots approach, involving group discussions, sensitization sessions, and interactive knowledge-sharing forums to educate stakeholders about the responsible use of antimicrobials in livestock. It also emphasized practical steps, such as adhering to withdrawal periods, practicing good husbandry, and adopting biosecurity measures to reduce the misuse of antibiotics.

Impact Metric

Climate resilience in livestock systems

The livestock Emergency guidelines and standards (LEGs) provides minimum standards and guidelines for use in humanitarian emergencies that impact livestock. The  handbook supports the livelihoods of livestock keeping communities affected by emergencies. And prioritizes lower-and middle-income countires and aims to improve  the quality of emergency humanitarian response.

Launching this handbook in our ecosystem is an attempt to shed light on standard guidelines for designing humanitarian interventions that impact livestock in marginalized  and disadvantaged communities.

It brings critical discussions   to the table that drives actions towards promoting standard livestock  emergency response for sustainable food systems and building climate Resilience.
